a) The operating instruction manuals for the tool have to be observed and read for your own safety.

b) Clean tools and tool attachments at regular intervals and test them for possible damage. The clamping surface has to be free of grease, oil and water.

c) Clean cutter shafts, spacers, surfaces (shaft collars) and remove any damage impairing accuracy. The same applies for all clamping components of any kind.

d) By heavy contamination, eliminate the resin from tools at regular intervals. Always observe directions when using resin-removal agents. In particular in the case of aluminum bodies, always ensure that you are using the permitted cleaning agents, and never allow tools lie in the agent for prolonged periods of time. Clean the tools cautiously after removing the resin.

e) Always utilize precise and plane-parallel spacers.

f) In the case of assembles tools, verify the tightness of the fastening bolts and nuts. Do not use wrench extensions. If in doubt, check through a torgue wrench.

g) Select the accurate rotary speed. Do not exceed the maximum allowable speed indicated on the tool.

h) Check the direction of rotation of the tool.

i) Check the clamping of the tool and the feed rate.

j) After very hard applications, examine the tool for cracks, defective cutting knives or abnormal wear. Tools with noticeable cracks cannot be used again.

k) Appropriate regrinding of the tools and timely exchanging of cutting tips always pays off.
